Environmental and Sustainability Policy
The RoHS directive is an acronym that stands for “restriction of the use of certain hazardous compounds in electrical and electronic equipment (EEE).” This directive, known as Directive 2002/95/EC, will prohibit the placement of new electrical and electronic equipment on the European Union (EU) market that contains more than agreed levels of lead, cadmium, mercury,
hexavalent chromium (Chromium VI), polybrominated biphenyl (PBB), and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) flame retardants. It will be implemented throughout the EU on July 1,
2006. Its goal is to limit the use of these six compounds in electrical and electronic equipment, thereby protecting human health and the environment. It is closely related to the Waste
Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE) 2002/96/EC, which establishes collection, recycling, and recovery targets for electrical items as part of a legislative push to address the issue of massive volumes of dangerous e-waste.
The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations (2006 No. 3289) (WEEE) is a new UK legislation designed to address the environmental impact of waste electrical and electronic
equipment. The regulations have been put in place to ensure that products are recycled using best available treatment, recovery and recycling techniques to ensure human health and high
environmental protection. Kicktek Ltd. is committed to protecting the local and global environment of the Earth and complying with all aspects of WEEE Regulations. To minimise environmental impacts concerning our activities, products and services, we shall:
